On the project
The proposed project is dedicated to the synthesis, processing and characterization of a complex BaO-MgO-Al2O3-2SiO2 (BMAS) system as a potential environmental barrier material. For reaching the goal, the synthesis of BMAS powders through solid-state reaction will be performed. The chemical composition and phase evolution under high temperatures will be assisted in order to compile useful information in the phase diagram of the X-BaO·(1-X)-MgO·Al2O3·2SiO2 system. Finally the feasibility of the production of EBC will be investigated.
