On the project
Description in EnglishCommon types of sensitivity analysis measure the influence of input variables on the variability of model output without a direct relationship to the failure probability or design quantile of the model outputs. This grant is aimed at the research of new methods of global sensitivity analysis that are directly oriented to structural reliability and non-linear structural mechanics. Mutually comparable sensitivity indices will be formulated with the requirement that probability-oriented and quantile-oriented sensitivity indices form pairs based on the same theoretical basis. The main subject of interest will be limit states and the probabilistic evaluation of the stability resistance of slender steel structures with strong interactions effects between initial imperfections. The effects of initial imperfections and their mutual interactions on the probability assesment of structural reliability will be analysed using non-linear finite element models. Computer algorithms aimed at effectively reducing the computati
