The proposed solution consists in particular in that a parachute fabric 22 dtex will be used for the production of the canopy instead of a fabric 33 dtex. The numbers 22 and 33, respectively, indicate the weight of 1000 m of fiber from which the fabric is woven. The 22 dtex fabric is thus lighter and more compressible in volume. The canopy of the backup / rescue parachute will thus have less weight and volume at the same area. However, it will be necessary to solve the load transfer from the supporting cords to the canopy fabric so that it is not destroyed during the stress tests. The 22 dtex fabric was also used by the USA company PD. However, we assume that a better load distribution will achieve a higher surface load and thus the useful power of the canopy. We will then be able to use a fabric with lower strength (smaller volume and lower weight.
