On the project
The recent trend in miniaturization of everyday elements is reflected in optics, too. The emerging field of so-called flat optics is based on metasurfaces – surfaces composed of subwavelength scattering features which bring new perspective to the known behavior of light. Optical metasurfaces enable us to mimic and surpass the functionalities of traditional optical components in only two dimensions. This project aims to develop a highly efficient dielectric optical metasurface with the functionality of a diffractive beam splitter.
