On the project

Microplastic pollution is a global challenge due to the presence of plastics in the oceans with unprecedented quantities. In this project, self-propelled zinc oxide micromotors are proposed to degrade microplastics via photocatalytic reactions. The micromotors would contribute to solve a life-threatening environmental problem with a scalable and cost-effective way.
