On the project

Zirconia ceramics due to their unique properties widely applied as structural and functional materials. The application of submicron powders and advanced technologies of manufacturing let to create composite materials with enhanced properties. In this project, t-ZrO2/c-ZrO2 translucent (transparent) composites with different ratio of components will be prepared using spark plasma sintering technique. Detailed study of sintering kinetics and grain size distribution and their impact on final optical and mechanical properties will be carried out.
