On the project

The possible future of electroceramics lies in lead-free barium titanate-based composites, with enhanced properties compared to pure BaTiO3. Suspension plasma spraying of BaTiO3 combined with high-modulus Al2O3 or ZrO2 offers new challenges and opportunities. Tailoring the material composition to produce the coatings with better electromechanical properties than pure BaTiO3 will broaden possibilities in the field of electroceramics with applications in e.g., more efficient, and durable capacitors or energy harvesters.
