Plánované činnosti Vysokého učení technického v Brně odpovídají cílům, které jsou uvedeny ve Strategickém záměru VUT a rovněž v programovém prohlášení nově zvoleného rektora VUT. V oblasti akreditací a studijních programů je to zejména zvýšení podílu profesně zaměřených studijních programů, které jsou vhodné v řadě oborů technického vzdělávání. VUT hodlá rovněž podstatným způsobem transformovat systém celoživotního vzdělávání na univerzitě, a to zejména směrem ke krátkodobým profesně orientovaným kursům (mikrocertifikáty). V období pandemie se na VUT osvědčily různé formy hybridní výuky s podílem distančních složek vzdělávání, které VUT hodlá v rozumné míře používat i v dalším období. Z tohoto důvodu univerzita hodlá zásadním způsobem zlepšit materiální vybavení pro tyto formy výuky včetně hardwarového a softwarového posílení příslušných modulů informačního systému. Některé fakulty VUT také plánují akreditovat studijní programy v distanční formě, což vyžaduje zejména tvorbu kvalitních studijních opor pro tyto formy vzdělávání. Na centrální úrovni VUT hodlá využít tohoto projektu k vytvoření profesionálního zázemí pro metodickou podporu distančního vzdělávání..
