On the project

Description in English
Main goal is to increase the knowledge on soil and water pollution with pesticide substances in the Czech Republic, to design and verify the efficiency of specific device (denitrifying bioreactor) for its reduction. Partial goals: 1) Comprehensive assessment of soil contamination with pesticide substances at selected places of CR. 2) Verification of usability of denitrifying bioreactors for simultaneous removal of pesticides and nitrates from agricultural land runoffs under pilot-plant conditions. 3) Monitoring of pesticide degradation and experimental testing of increasing the efficiency of biodegradation processes using biostimulation/bioaugmentation. Use of naturally occurring degraders such as bacteria and lower fungi from sites long-term contaminated with pesticide substances.
