On the project

The proposed project aims to develop technologies and competences related to control and management systems for nuclear power plants and fusion reactors. Even that basic physics principles of both technologies are different, significant parts of technologies used in their control and management systems are the same or similar. The problems to solve are mostly identical – high level of radiation, high temperatures, high requirements for safety, reliability and therefore also predictability of system behavior. This sub-project does not aim to address all the broad issues in this area but targets key components and some main problems which are known to project participants (especially to private companies), and which must be solved in order to move forward in their activities and business on the issue of control and management systems. Especially we are talking about data acquisition (DAQ) in hard environment, highly reliable and efficient inverters for actuators in reactor zone, advanced nuclear reactor power controller, models of reactor behavior for Hardware In the Loop (HIL) testing of developed controllers and tools and procedures for development, verification and qualification of safety software.
