On the project
Metasurfaces represent novel optical components made of precisely aligned nanostructures that can control the amplitude, polarization, or direction of light waves. Incorporating a phase-change material into nanostructures allows for tuning the function of already fabricated metasurfaces. This incorporation can result in tunable beam steering devices, promising for future LiDAR systems. The main goal of this project is to design and fabricate a tunable beam steering device made of hybrid silicon and phase-change vanadium dioxide nanostructures.
