On the project

Description in English
Increasing rates of industrial wastewater recovery are and will be associated with increased production of new types of waste sludge. The aim is to find a technological approach for the efficient treatment of waste sludge with emphasis on its energy and material potential. To this end, wastewater (WW) from selected industrial plants will be collected for one year. From the collected WW, waste sludge will be prepared by recycling methods (mechanical, membrane, thermal) and then the sludge will be subjected to anaerobic digestion for biogas production. The results of the experiments will be analysed in order to define a treatment procedure (technology) that will allow the sludge to be used efficiently in biogas plants while maintaining the required quality of the recycled water.
