On the project
Description in English
The aim of the project is the design, installation, commissioning, and full automation of a pilot unit for wastewater (WW) recycling in a winery. WW from wineries is characterized by high organic load and high ethanol concentration. This contamination and its considerable seasonal and local variability make it significantly more expensive to process the WW by conventional methods, which generally do not allow the recovery of the treated water. The recycling technology will produce three output streams: clean water for process purposes (up to 90% of the original volume), ethanol solution with potential for further commercial use, and concentrated sludge. The project will reduce water consumption and WW disposal costs and enable operators to comply with environmental requirements.
