On the project

Important part of current adaptive systems comprises magnetorheological elastomers (MRE) as a new group of materials exhibiting change of properties according to an external magnetic field applied. Thus, they can be utilized in systems such as various vibration control devices. The project has fundamental research character. Its partial activities and planned activities, are focused on the development of MRE resistant to external environmental conditions, such as temperature, humidity, ozone, mechanical damage, salinization, electron or UV irradiation, all with respect to the damping capabilities of the mentioned MRE-based adaptive systems. Statistical analyzes and machine learning approach (feedforward neural networks) will be used to predict the joint influence of the mentioned factors on the damping capabilities of MRE. Research activities will be further carried out with the aim of understanding and describing (experimentally and theoretically) the vibroisolation characteristics of these durable MREs in the sense of testing on a model semi-active damper
