On the project

This project aims to examine the effect of carbon enrichment on the ballistic performance of AlCoCrFeNi high-entropy alloy (HEA). The alloy will be densified via spark plasma sintering, with varied carbon content for carbide formation and increased hardness. Microstructural and phase characterization will be conducted using SEM, XRD, and Vickers hardness testing. After refining processing conditions, large-diameter samples will undergo depth of penetration (DOP) ballistic testing to assess the impact of carbon addition on ballistic properties.
