On the project
Bisphenol A (BPA) is a common chemical that disrupts hormones and has been linked to various health problems, making it important to develop an easy and affordable way to detect it. This project repurposes glucose monitors, which are already widely available, to measure BPA levels by forming a stable BPA-glucose compound that existing glucose sensors can detect. The process includes breaking down BPA- glucuronide, chemically linking BPA with glucose, and fine-tuning measurements to ensure accurate readings from artificial urine samples.
