Description in EnglishThe defects and failures of load-bearing structures of prefabricated buildings represent, in many cases, a serious decrease in their structural safety, threaten the health and life of their inhabitants and cause a marked reduction of the service life ofprefabricated buildings which form a decisive share in the stock of dwellings ofthe Czech Republic. The grant project focused on a basic, number-one requirement, laid out in the EU Directive No. 106 89 - Mechanical resistance and stability. A non-linearanalysis of residual structural safety of prefabricated buildings with faulty joints of load-bearing concrete units or damaged units and load-bearing structures, with insufficient horizontal and vertical reinforcement, is a basic prerequisite for a reliable and, at the same time, economical design of prefabricated buildings' rehabilitation.
