On the project
Description in EnglishThe composite laminate GLARE (fibre-metal laminate) is a new type of a light-weight structure material that offers high strength and extreme fatigu resistance. Fibre-metal laminates have been succesfully applied exclusively in thin walled structures. A more wide-range application in massive structural parts is restricted by an insufitient knowledge of fatigue behaviour of multi-layered laminate plates. The aim of the proposed project is to complete a knowledge gained in the recent investigation of multi-layered fibre-metal laminates by a study of some additional effects significantly influencing fatigue behaviour of laminate body. They are fibre orientation, metal-layer property and applied-load cycle ratio. Obtained results enable to formulate propercriteria for a design of massive laminate parts and to estimate its fatigue life. The goal,of the project is to use the results for a design of the real structural part (wing-fuselage attachment lug for an oversized version of the Czech aircraft L-610)
