The aim of the project is to exploit the potential of cold kinetic deposition technology and selective laser 3D printing for the preparation of metallic materials with functional internal architecture (internally structured materials). The use of numerical and optimisation methods in combination with controlled experiments will also be key to the solution. It involves the design and gradual optimisation of the geometry of the internal architecture of metallic materials using theoretical models and finite element calculations and the manufacture of these internally structured materials using cold kinetic deposition or selective laser 3D printing technology. The efforts will also be partially devoted to lightening the structure through voids and spaces not filled with material. A study of microstructural processes in materials during their production is also envisaged.

The aim of the project is to utilise the potential of the research centre to achieve internationally competitive research quality. The project is focused on the implementation of excellent research in the field of combustion carbon capture and storage using biomass – Bio-CCS, or its capture and use – Bio-CCU. The research will be specifically focused on oxyfuel combustion of different types of biofuels in fluidised bed, which appears to be the most promising from the point of view of new facilities, and on the entire technological chain associated with it, including oxygen production. Other key directions of the research include oxy-gasifying biomass and technologies for the use of captured CO2 for the production of liquid fuels. Within the project, related research will be carried out into the preparation of biomass for oxyfuel combustion and gasification technologies, the separation of condensable gases from final CO2 and into the modelling of the above mentioned processes and their process characterisation and datamining.
