Method of Evaluation and Materials
The evaluation process involved several key steps and materials:
Self-Evaluation Reports
Each evaluated unit submitted a self-evaluation report providing information about its activities. The report included basic information about the institutes, statistical data and metrics, and summaries of:
- Research focus and topics
- Research vision for the next 5-10 years
- Publication strategy
- Most significant outputs
- Collaboration strategy
- Most significant projects
- Social and economic impacts of research
- Research infrastructure used
Online Meeting with Evaluators
About a month before the on-site visit (in two rounds), an online meeting was organized with the evaluators.
The purpose of the online meeting was to answer questions related to the background materials and describe the scheduled course of the on-site meeting.
On-Site Visit
The evaluators visited the evaluated units for three days.
After studying the self-evaluation reports and other materials, the evaluators conducted interviews with the management and other members of the evaluated units, including Ph.D. students.
This allowed them to obtain additional information beyond what was provided in the written materials (self-evaluation reports).
By combining the self-evaluation reports, the online meeting, and the on-site visit, the evaluators had access to a comprehensive set of information to thoroughly assess the performance and potential of each evaluated unit.
