Original Abstract
The development of a new water turbine was aimed at covering small heads and large discharges.Only two runner blades are used. The distributor is absent.Changing of runner speed enables governing.Computation of the blade shape was carried out using CFD code Fluent, several designs were computationaly tested. An experimental method (LDA measurement) was used to find the real velocity field, agreement of computed and measurement velocity fields was very close. The efficiency curve of this turbine is rather flat and cavitation properties are excellent.Turbine is characterized by low manufacturing costs.
