Original Abstract
This paper deals with the topic of fringe projection 3D scanning of sheet metal parts. This method of inspection is widely used in sheet metal parts production in the automotive industry. The digitization of sheet metal parts surfaces is difficult due to their high reflectivity and specular reflections caused thereby. Experimental measurements with the 3D scanner based on fringe projection principle have been carried out on two different flat sheet metal samples. Different range of exposure (and observation) angles and exposure times of fringe pattern projection have been used. The results of these experiments show that the range of 10-30 degrees (in relation to the scanners projector) gives the best results in the case of scanning using two cameras and angles close to 30 degrees give the best results in the case of scanning with one camera.
