Original Abstract
The paper deals with the technology of the ligneous fillers for plastics prepared on the basis of coconut fibers as raw material, which recorded a large user boom in recent years. The paper shows the bulk properties of both the raw material and the milled product as well and the grinding characteristics of the grinding stock of such the material obtained on the pilot plant mill of Attritor type where the steel grinding beads and grinding aids additives are used. The bulk properties of the raw fiber material and the micro-fine filler product were measured on the standard Jenike box device. Obtained fluid flow curves are compared with the usual parameters carbonate filler which are used in the plastics composite industry. It is stated that ligneous micro-fine fillers for plastics based on the coconut fibers raw material, which provides polymeric matrix composite materials of very interesting application properties, can be prepared in the feasible technological processes. The found relatively good grindability and the favorable rheology of obtained micro-fine ligneous fillers suggests that the processing production line of the "normal" composite materials should be after minor adjustments used as the production line for the ligneous micro-fine fillers processing, too.
