Original Abstract

The article examines the relationship between environmental, social, governance (ESG) performance and economic performance of the Czech manufacturing companies. The aim of the empirical study is to test whether ESG performance improves economic performance of these companies. The interaction between ESG and economic performance indicators was tested in 79 Czech manufacturing companies. Data was acquired through empirical research in the Czech Republic, which was completed in 2011-2013. The analysis was performed using multiple linear regressions. The results show that the Czech companies in manufacturing industries do not exhibit a significant correlation between ESG performance, and economic performance.
