Original Abstract
A Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a self-organizing wireless communication network in which mobile devices base on no infrastructure like base stations or access points. Minimal configuration and quick deployment make ad hoc networks suitable for emergency situations like disaster recovery or military conflict. Since node mobility may cause links to be broken frequently, a very important issue for routing in MANETs is how to set reliable paths which can last as long as possible. To solve this problem, non-random behaviors for the mobility patterns that mobile users exhibit are exploited. This paper introduces various schemes to improve routing protocol performances by using mobility prediction.
