Original Abstract
The application options of bonded ventilated facades systems are numerous. One of the possibilities is also the revitalization of lightweight claddings. Before these systems come on the market they have to undergo extensive testing. In our case we decided to test the weakest point of the whole system that is the bonded joint. For testing purposes we selected a "Cetris" cement bonded particleboard cladding and aluminium profiles as the load bearing substructure. Previous tests of retention and strength in shear at the air temperature of (20 +/- 3) C with relative humidity (55 +/- 10) % did not show major difference among the chosen adhesives. The article is focussed both on the preparation as well as the subsequent production of testing samples and experimental verification of substructure bonding retention to the cladding and determination of strength in shear in tension stress after conditioning with sudden temperature changes, heating to (70 +/- 3) C and subsequent cooling to (20 +/- 2) C. The testing procedures determined firstly the suitability of use of the chosen adhesives for the selected combination of materials and also the method suggested that the use of most expensive adhesives does not always bring the best possible results.
