Original Abstract
The business process must reflect changes in theenvironment, therefore the adaptation of the process model orthe particular process instance is essential. The statecompliance criterion has been introduced to check thatdynamic process change is correct and does not lead tosoundness problems or run-time errors. In some cases, however, the process instance must immediately be migrated tothe changed model or updated itself; hence the strategy ofcoping with the non-compliant process instance must bechosen. This paper presents the process re-execution approachwhich effectively implements the state compliance test. The reexecutionalgorithm makes it possible to defer the suitableactivities and use them later, thus offering a flexible solutionfor treating the non-compliant process instances. Moreover,a custom strategy of treating can be used based on the fullcontext of the activity that caused the inconsistency.
