Original Abstract
The high temperatures have negative influence on concrete constructions in term of failure of inner concrete structure. The rate of permeability of surface layer is significant for escape velocity of water vapour from interior volume of the concrete. The explosive spalling could occur if the rate of permeability of surface layer is low. In case of reinforced concrete the bonded coating of armature could be destroyed and armature is no more protected and loses its strength. The Initial Surface Absorption Test (ISAT) is one of methods how to determine the surface water permeability of concrete and other building materials. The study deals with changes of water permeability of concrete exposed to high temperatures. Concrete mixtures with basalt aggregates and expanded clay aggregates were examined.
Keywords
High temperatures, concrete, explosive spalling.
