Original Abstract
This paper deals with the design optimisation of rotary electric machine using evolutionary optimisation algorithms. This paper presents the use of differential evolution algorithm to one-phase universal motor design optimisation. The finite element method implemented in software ANSYS was used to create the universal motor model. The goal of the design optimisation was to optimise the geometrical proportion of the machine rotor to improve the machine operating characteristics.
