Original Abstract
Torrential rains are one of the causes of extreme flood events in small river basins. These situations cause a threat to urban areas and considerable damage to property as well as farmlands. These extreme events can be eliminated to a certain degree by the appropriate organizational measures on agricultural land as well as technical measures, particularly dry retention reservoirs, linear erosion control measures (broad base terraces, broad base channel, grass waterways, etc.). The effect of these elements on surface runoff (peak flow rate and runoff volume) and erosion is the subject of this article. An assessment of the effectiveness of the linear measures helps to form proposals aimed at the elimination of surface runoff and erosion losses in one complex step to optimize the allocation of investment.
