Vznik Církve československé husitské byl jedním z významných důsledků politické, kulturní a náboženské transformace, kterou česká společnost prošla po roce 1918 v prvních letech samostatné Československé republiky. Příspěvek se zabývá historickými předpoklady vzniku samostatné československé církve navazující na národní náboženskou tradici (Jan Hus, Jan Ámos Komenský, Cyril a Metoděj). Poté sleduje vznik a rozvoj náboženské obce této církve v Náměšti nad Oslavou. Zvláštní pozornost věnuje dosud nedoceněné budově sboru postavené ve stylu pozdního funkcionalismu v období těsně po Mnichovské dohodě. Budova sboru je architektonicky zcela srovnatelná s jinými meziválečnými novostavbami CČS, které nacházíme v Praze nebo Brně figurujícími na stránkách učebnic moderní architektury. A ač jde o návrh studenta inženýrství, vykazuje harmonické uspořádání a znaky charakteristického stavebního projevu, kterým se novostavby československé církve v té době vyznačovaly (suterénní společenská místnost, kolumbárium a umístění hlavního chrámového vstupu na vyvýšenou terasu). Příspěvek dále sleduje i vnitřní umělecké vybavení, které z budovy sboru činí všestranně kvalitní umělecké dílo a spolu s architekturou je interpretuje v dobovém tvůrčím i náboženském kontextu. Text je doplněn aktuální fotodokumentací a původními stavebními plány.

The emergence of the Czechoslovak Church was one of the major consequences of the political, cultural and religious transformation Czech society has undergone after 1918 in the first years of the independent Czechoslovak Republic. The paper deals with the historical assumptions for the establishment of independent Czechoslovak church based on the national religious tradition (Jan Hus, Jan Ámos Komenský, Cyril and Methodius). Then tracks the emergence and development of religious communities of this church in the town of Náměšť nad Oslavou. Special attention to heretofore unrecognized ward building, built in the style of late functionalism in the period just after the Munich Agreement. The building is architecturally quite comparable with other interwar designs of CČS that we find in Prague or Brno and figuring on the pages of textbooks of modern architecture. And though beeing design of an construction-engineering student, it has a harmonious arrangement, and the characteristic of the construction and expression, which the new building of the Czechoslovak Church at that time have experienced (the basement lounge, columbarium and the location of the main temple entrance on the elevated terrace). Post on tracks and indoor art equipment from the building of the choir is the all-round quality of art and together with the architecture of the period is interpreted in a creative and religious context. The text is supplemented by current photographs and original construction plans.
