Original Abstract
In this paper, a selected example was introduced of using Double-K fracture model results obtained from fracture test of three-point bended specimens of concrete with heavy-weight aggregates (OB) as well as light-weight aggregates (LB) with polypropylene fibres to calculate Double-G fracture model parameters. It can be concluded: (i) Resistance to initiation of stable crack propagation increased with addition of fibres in both concrete types. (ii) For heavy-weight aggregates concrete, this increase was about 10 to 20 % of relative initiation fracture toughness and 20 to 40 % of relative initiation fracture energy release, concrete with fibre length of 38 mm (OB_FF38) showed the highest increase. (iii) For light-weight aggregates concrete, this increase was about 40 to 90 % of relative initiation fracture toughness and 100 to nearly 300 % of relative initiation fracture energy release; in this case, concrete with fibre length of 54 mm (LB_FF54) showed the highest increase. (iv) Double-G fracture model compared to Double-K fracture model predicts substantially lower resistance to stable crack propagation for both types of concrete; relative resistance to initiation of stable crack propagation (G_IC^ini/G_IC^un to K_IC^ini/K_IC^un ratio) was approximately between 40 and 50 % in heavy-weight aggregates concrete and between 20 to 40 % in light-weight aggregates concrete.
