Original Abstract

In the experimental part of the work the measuring was performed on the cylinder block of an 03D engine (the upper and the lower part). Residual stress was determined directly on the casting and on specimens that had been cut from these castings. In the calculation of ressidual stress, the material constants affect the result in the order of units of MPa. The residual stress values in the interval 0-1 mm are mostly of the compression stress kind while above 1 mm they are residual tensile stress values.
