Original Abstract
Procedure of estimation of calibration curves (for stress intensity factors and higher order terms of Williams series) and the specimen compliance functions is presented. A series of concrete test specimens in different variants of a novel test configuration which combines the wedge splitting and bending test was investigated. The tests were carried out at TU Wien with cooperation with Brno University of Technology. Evaluation of the dimensionless shape functions from Williams’ solution for characterization of stress/displacement field in the cracked specimen, as well as the specimen compliance functions, is crucial for further fracture analysis of quasi-brittle materials. Over deterministic method implemented within an own developed procedure (in Java programming language) is used in this study. Numerical results obtained from models in ANSYS FEM software are considered as inputs to this procedure.
