Original Abstract
Removal of micropollutants is becoming the main interest in the area of wastewater treatment due to increasing requirements on discharged treated wastewaters from WWTP. Because of their impact on biological processes in organisms, resistance to conventional methods of wastewater treatment and accumulation in environment, micropollutants represent potentially harmful substances to water environment. This article is focused on antibiotic removal from communal wastewaters by advanced oxidation processes (ozone, UV, hydrogen peroxide), whose benefits are high effectivity of the process and low power consumption. The effectivity ofpollutant removal processes was tested on synthetic wastewaters, with stable initial concentrationof an antibiotic type, on an AOPs prototype in research centre AdMaS (Brno University of Technology).
