Original Abstract
In this paper the authors introduce an efficient estimation tool of coming pedestrian flow during evacuation scenario. Such an estimation can be used to forestall possible threads like: clogging before exits or congestions with high density of pedestrians. A graph that represents the whole building is created – each room, or group of rooms can be represented as a single node. Actual output flow from external nodes (leaves) are measured using depth map sensors, and then propagated to each nodes of the graph using a queuing model. Proposed method is expandable i.e. one can use other flow sensors (e.g. CCTV underneath cameras or mobiles) also the propagation of flow can be executed using other methods – e.g. crowd dynamics simulations. However, the authors believe that described solution is the best choice for efficient estimation of pedestrian flow in indoor evacuation scenarios.
