Original Abstract
The article deals with the single-phase faults location method on 110 kV lines, where locators of distance protection are currently used for this purpose. However, the distance principle of measuring the distance of the fault is considerably influenced by a whole series of factors, which are based on the operating conditions of the protected line or the nature of the fault itself. The paper maps current trends in fault localization methods and proposes a simple correction algorithm to eliminate the effect of asymmetry and inhomogeneity on the distance protection locator errors.
