Original Abstract
In this contribution the study of O-2 and O-3 reactions with electrode surface and with particles absorbed on electrode surface in an ozonizer is presented. The electrode surfaces were treated in the dielectric barrier discharge in ozonizer with pure (99.9999%) oxygen for long times (up to six hours). Then the discharge was switched off and pure oxygen or oxygen with ozone reacted with treated electrode surface for different time periods. Thereafter the ozone concentration at the ozonizer output was measured by the absorption spectroscopy. It was found that the molecular oxygen reacts with oxygen atoms adsorbed on electrode surfaces producing ozone and that the ozone is destroyed by surface reactions in later times. On the other hand the ozone concentration in switched off ozonizer stays constant for long time. Simple kinetic model describing these phenomena was developed.
