Original Abstract
In the last years a new technological concept known as a Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) was introduced. The LPWAN technologies offer new possibilities that cover a wide range of applications. They provide a cost-effective longrange and low-power solution for wireless sensor networks. Many application-based papers have already been published on the most adopted LPWAN technology known as LoRaWAN. However,there is a clear gap in the theoretical part of the recent researches. Therefore, the paper provides an evaluation of wellknown simulation tools for the LoRaWAN technology. These new results should help in the network planning process, in which simulation is one of the first steps before deployment.
