Original Abstract
This paper deals primary with diagnostic methods determined for heat exchangers and its fouling. The attention is paid to first-principles (analytical) models, possible principles for fault diagnostics and to fouling in heat exchangers. Shortly the types of fouling are mentioned. Next part of this article engages in fouling detection with a model and analyses several detection techniques. The power observing is explained in detail and equations for power loss are given. In the end the procedure for fouling calculation and an example of fouling dependency on estimated power loss is demonstrated.
