Original Abstract

The procedure of producing metal nanowires or nanotubes is described. The composition of the used bath and the conditions during the electrodeposition process affect the physical and mechanical properties of the metal deposit. The parameters, which have the most significant impact on the properties of deposit, are the temperature of the bath, the pH, impurities, the current density, and the concentration of the solution. The length of nanostructures depends on the plating speed hence several experiments on copper samples were performed in order to find out how the weight of the deposit depends on the time of deposition and the current density. The result of the plating speed examination is that the weight of the deposit is continually proportional to both time and current density. The nanostructures have been examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
