Original Abstract

Předmětem prezentované studie je porovnat vybrané obytné soubory z Brna a z Vídně a přispět k poznání vztahu mezi urbanistickou strukturou a spokojeností obyvatel. Respondenti z volné zástavby hodnotili svoje bydliště kladněji, než respondenti z kompaktní zástavby blíže k centru. Šetření z Vídně nastolilo otázku, zda kompaktní zástavba může dobře fungovat i v okrajových částech měst nebo pouze v jejich centrech a potvrdilo předpoklad, že koncept obytného souboru může ovlivnit soudržnost komunity jeho obyvatel.

English abstract

The aim of the presented study is to compare selected residential complexes from Brno and Vienna and to contribute to understanding the relationship between urban structure and residential satisfaction. Respondents from free urban structure rated their residence more positively than respondents from compact urban structure closer to the city center. The Vienna survey raised the question of whether a compact development can work well in the suburbs or only in the city centers, and confirmed the assumption that the concept of housing estate could affect the cohesion of the community of its inhabitants.
