Original Abstract

This article deals with modal analysis and compares two methods of determining a modal model of a simple free beam. One method uses roving excitation by modal hammer and static sensing by accelerometer. Second method applies static excitation by vibration test system and roving sensing by 2D laser interferometer. Both methods are compared by their results, advantages and disadvantages, also agreement of measurement, calculated model and simulated model by finite element method is performed. Difference of the Eigen-frequencies is lower than 4 %. Finally, achieved repeatability of both methods with different operators is lower than 0.5 %.
