Abstract

The thermal barrier coating with enhanced CMAS resistant properties and with low thermal conductivity, based on a functional graded coating, was chosen for spraying of the heat shield component in accordance with research work from previous years. The heat shield is standard aerospace component used in jet engines. The deposition of the CMAS resistant TBC onto the surface of the heat shield will enhance its thermal insulation properties, increase its durability and corrosion resistance, and prolong the overall life time of this component in service.
