Original Abstract
The influence of the composition of cementitious materials on the resulting modulus of elasticity has already been investigated in detail. However, the question of which factors influence the value of the modulus of elasticity in the early stage of ageing of cementitious materials has not been completely solved yet. This paper deals with the development of the modulus of elasticity in cement pastes in the early age. The measurements were conducted on pastes with different water/cement ratios and with different amounts of plasticizer. The modulus of elasticity was determined based on continuous measurement using the ultrasonic method in the first 24 hours of ageing with simultaneous measurement of the internal temperature in the specimens. In addition to the measurement of the dynamic modulus of elasticity, the static modulus of elasticity test was also conducted at the age of 24 and 72 hours.
