Original Abstract
Edible mushrooms, wild growing, are specific ingredient of food in Central Europe,. The aim of this work is both to review and to provide other data. Heavy metals can exert detrimental effects on human and animal health and on the environment. Their ecotoxicological properties are generally well known. The metal bioaccumulation levels of mushrooms have been studied very intensively. Many mushroom species are known as cadmium, lead or mercury accumulators. Consequently, these different edible mushrooms were analyzed and the amounts of metal elements in fruit body of mushrooms, especially hazardous metals (Pb, Cd, Hg, As and others), were determined.
