Original Abstract
The paper describes simulations aimed at the design of a suitable connection of a two-cylinder concept of the internal combustion engine for a range extender to an engine dynamometer through a more complex torsional chain. Loading of parts of the system chain is evaluated based on the results of in-house simulation tool of forced damped torsional vibration built in the FORTRAN environment. Special attention is paid to the disc clutch, which in the case of engines with a smaller number of cylinders suffers from increased loading.
