Datalogger application is created in LabVIEW environment and tightly connected to the National Instrument’s hardware platform Compact RIO. Main goal of this application is communication with smart sensor, calculation of basic diagnostics parameters based on the data received from the sensor and long term and intelligent trending suitable for signal postprocessing. All transferred and stored data can be displayed; program also show system information, like processor performance, available memory space etc. Application stores the data based on its informative value – not complete incoming information, but somehow reduced data stream with the emphasis on the original information preserving. This approach contributes to reduced record size with original informative value keeping.
