Original Abstract
A prototype of distributed computing platform for numerical solution of dynamic contact problems of several bodies is presented. Its solution offers a capability to work in dynamically changing environment, usually provided by the general computer network. The model of presented open-source platform for finite element analysis is based on the domain-level decomposition method, but with complete dynamic behaviour both in scope of current accessible hardware for computation and data content as well. Such nominated distributed computing platform follows the latest trends in distributed computing, based on cloud technologies, built on the computer network stack as a core for inter-process communication. The problems of mutual contact constraints of various bodies belongs to the set of engineering issues with potential to be effectively solved in a distributed manner. It is the case especially in automotive industry, namely in numerical simulations of massive car crashes and large deformation problems with contact of 3-dimensional printed structures. The illustrative simulation test of an impact of structures assembled from shells is considered as an indication of current capabilities and performance of the suggested strategy for distributed computing.
