Original Abstract

The paper describes the production, preparation, carrying out and evaluation of static load tests of simple reinforced concrete (RC) girders, stressed in four-point bending. The paper also describes the experimental tests used to obtain the material properties of concrete and concrete reinforcement that are used for the production of RC girders. Experimentally obtained values of ultimate bearing capacity were compared to numerically obtained values. Numerical analyses were carried out using the ATENA non-linear FEM system with utilization of experimentally found and statistically elaborated material characteristics. At the end of the paper, the experiments are compared with numerical analyses.
